A Fond Farewell to VTAC - The Vermont Telecom Advancement Center
After seven years of dedicated service to the State of Vermont, VTAC will be closing its doors concurrent with the retirement of its Executive Director, Alan Kamman, on June 30, 2004. Anyone involved in or even interested in telecommunications in Vermont benefited from the educational efforts of VTAC through its seminars, focus groups, and website. Furthermore, its tireless advocacy of expanded and improved telecom resources in Vermont benefited and will continue to benefit many who might not have been aware of the role VTAC played.
On a more personal level, Al Kamman contributed his considerable talent and experience to a number of other organizations in Vermont by collaboration with the executive and legislative branches of State government and by serving for many years as moderator of U.S. Senator Leahy?s Annual eBusiness Seminar. We wish Alan all the best in the years ahead and, despite his talk of retirement, suspect we will continue to benefit from his wise counsel in the future.
Since the VTAC website will be going off the air on June 30th, we have added a TELECOM button on the VITC website and will try to provide national news items of interest to the telecom community as of July First. We will also continue to list Vermont telecom items on our regular News and Events page. Finally, we welcome your comments and suggestions on other ways VITC might support progress in Vermont?s telecom infrastructure.
