Sean Wang appointed to VITC Advisory Council
VITC is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Wang, Dorothean Professor in the Computer Science Department at UVM, to its advisory council.
Dr. Wang obtained his PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 1992. That same year, he started teaching in the Information and Software Engineering Department at George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia). During 2000-2002, he was the Chief Scientist at a software company. In August 2003, Wang came to UVM, where he teaches various courses at different levels, and works on a variety of research projects. His research areas include database systems, information security, data privacy, data mining, and temporal reasoning. He is currently the Principal Investigator on several federally sponsored research projects, and is a recipient of the National Science Foundation?s Career and Research Initiation Awards. Sean Wang has over 80 scientific publications, including two research monographs.
